Big Day for Indian Cricket and Team India, As you all know today Saurov and Dravid lock horns for the First game in IPL. Team mates for over a decade and now fighting for their own teams.
As a cricketer myself, i am little worried about the conflicts this rivalry could create with in the Indian Team. I am from Chennai and I know chennai has got one of the best infrastructure in India for Cricket with structured league and well managed Association but yet we have only own the Runji Trophy twice over the years. We have great teams in I st division league like MRF,chemplast,India Cements,India Pistons,TVS etc. Since each of these teams compete hard to win the I st division leave there is always problems with in the Tamil Nadu team due to the league cricket battles.
Now i can see the same kind of issues coming up with in Team India as most of the players will be fighting for their own teams, keep this in mind that lots and lots of money is involved in the IPL format and i am sure non of the franchise owners are going to take it easy and its not like the Ranji Traphy where players mostly play to get selected in Team India. Leave alone the old horses (sachin,saurov,dravid,lakshman ) think about the kind of rivalry it could inflict between Dhoni-Youraj , Harbhajan - RobinUthappa Under-19 star Kohli and piyush chawla.
As a spectator, yes its going to be fun to watch the games but as a cricketer its scary ....
